Why are people on here never happy with Gaga anymore?

The irony is that this thread gives platform for people to express the negativity that you don't wanna hear , AND those wanting to denounce their negativity alongside you are doing it in a way where they are calling other people names which is negative as well :lolly:

But to answer the Q...... People miss past versions of gaga I guess. She's changed a lot and doesn't meet the expectations her previous work/ethic have established in people's minds. I used to care and feel sad about her changing in ways, but now I'm like whatever I don't idolize Gaga or identify as a Stan or being in her "fandom" I just like her music and who she appears to be as a person and that's enough for me.

I think there are the usual very few toxic negative users but the rest are just expressing a healthy and respectful opinions because they love Gaga.

It's more unhealthy to be obsessed with Act II and make Gaga feel sh-t about it, than saying that the Versace Pride hate is too expensive..

Some are happy no matter what Gaga says or does

Others look at things from a more critical perspective and honestly...with how things have gone for the past year with an almost non-existent album era, a galore of brand endorsements getting all the promo and attention, Gaga barely speaking or engaging with fans, etc...I don't blame them.

I too have been on this site for over a decade and have seen the shift in Gaga...she's gonna through a lot in her life and career but if things don't change soon...she will start losing her core fanbase that no longer recognizes the artist they stanned for...thats not a threat or a shady comment...its just the world we live in. New artists are rising in a new decade of music and she hasn't been on the top like she once was

I totally understand the habit of coming to this site, cause i know a lot of people are here are interesting on other pop artists, and pop news generally (i confess I'm here basically because Gaga). And i know that to some, Gaga's past stuff it's ultimate what they adore and admire and that's totally alright. But at some point I think we need to understand what  she wants to do now, where she is at... Ultimate, and please don't understand me wrong, cause i don't know you, and don't know if this is what you feel, don't "resent" ( cause sometimes from some comments i read here, seems like Gaga betrayed them or something, like they are truly annoyed by everything she does). ( Man, i wish my english was better, to express myself better)

Her new self is a clear contradiction with her past self, so you can't really blame anyone for feeling "betrayed". The biggest realization is that she's not anyone here's friend, she's an unknown rich celebrity. So while yes I'm a fan, I'm done speaking about her like she's my mom like pretty much everyone here seems to be expected to. I now talk about her with the same honesty I talk about other pop stars. Which brings me to another point : so many of you guys are total hypocrites. Did you see the threads about Katy Perry? Do you hear yourselves talking about any other celebrities? You don't tip toe. Sometimes you go in and you trash them. And guess what? THAT'S OK. THEY'RE CELEBRITIES. Their literal job is to entertain and please the public.

In other words, you're just all biased cause this is a Gaga forum. The way I speak about her is no worse than the way you all speak about other celebrities

I know I'm giving these people a platform, I did want to vent on here

I only get heated when Little Worshippers can't handle my opinions (and I do get a kick from arguing with them lol)

I absolutely adore her music and she hasn't disappointed me with a music project ever

It's the rest that's a mess. Literally today she proved my point again. Her ****ing Pride post is a sponsored brand deal. How do you guys not see it :awkney:

And the reason I take it so seriously is she's the only pop star who has potential left. Katy has became... this. Nicki is not giving what she used to give. Who's left from the iconic 2010s pop stars? Gaga. That's it. And in that whole decade there hasn't been a new one that could compare. So I do think she's the only real star in current pop culture (besides the old acts), and it's disappointing to see her ruin every opportunity she has at saving pop. Chromatica was IT, and look what happened with it.

You'd be irritated too if the only artist you truly stan kept trashing projects in order to sell **** on Instagram.

And let me use your "her career will survive" argument to point out that my criticism doesn't affect her in any way, so like, you guys can chill out and stop acting like I'm pissing on her grave or something.

Gaga is the only artist I stan and Chromatica is my favourite album of hers so there's that . The only thing that would irritate me is if she put out a crappy album. I don't even care about the rest of it, she is a musician and I expect music. The fact that I think that she is a good person, smart and so on is just a bonus for me. Just like the performances or promo. I think not a single person on here would say no to that but it is what it is.

Anyway, I read a few post on here from members that said they didn't like a single album since Born This Way and my response was more directed to those members. I mean, just move on.

And I am chill, just having a conversation. Again, I am not trying to argue or insult you in any way, just expressing my thoughts.

I think some people aren’t too thrilled because it’s down to the lack of music promo running alongside the commercial deals.  In her previous eras she was probably even more commercialised, but she offset that by performing her music tonnes of times.  I think her priorities have changed now; if this pandemic was 10 years ago she would’ve performed music online every night from her house, do virtual listening parties etc.

Most GGD users are just here to criticize Gaga and make fun of everything she does while ganging up on anyone who complains about the endless negativity. I’ve been laughed off this site multiple times for trying to start a conversation about this :triggered:

No other fan base is this negative towards their fave. It’s absolute insanity.

Came here say to this. The fact that you get hounded upon if you support Gaga :bear: on "Gaga"daily. :yennefer:

They should really change it to popdaily or something.

To me what Gaga is today isn't a new self. And it isn't a contradiction with her past self. Who she is today is a human being, a woman that learned **** with life, how to be in peace with herself, how to navigate her career, how to deal with her demons,  evolved, expanded. I don't consider her my mother, never have, i mean I'm older than her lol. Don't consider her my friend, I don't know her, she doesn't know me. I simply admire her. Regardless talking about other pop stars, i barely say something rather than praise them for their achievements, cause i really don't know much about their life and career, plus i rather be careful talking about other artists cause we know they have fans also. (I guess your comment wasn't for me). Anyways i think your annoyed with other stans, and how they talk about other artists or judge then so you give Gaga the same treatment ( fair i guess). That's not something I'm going to discuss cause it's something I don't do, or even understand.

I have depression and am incapable of being happy :vegas:

If it makes you feel better I filter out 90% of the things I want to post here. I type out and delete things before hitting send more than I comment, because I try not to be too negative or critical. I keep a lot of things to myself.

Not expressing myself feels bad. I can't help that I naturally have a critical outlook and specific taste (one could say I was born this way :trollga:). I try to leave out negative comments and focus on positive things, or at least leave a positive note with criticism.

That said there are definitely some excessively hateful people on here.

I relate so much to this. :bradley: I started loving because of her music and being different from the rest and I love her even more now because of her kindness.

How about a bit more kindness, to Gaga and to each other ?

Debate is good, it can be interesting and fun, but if everyone just says everything is wonderful all the time, it's not much of a debate. Same applies if everyone says everything is terrible all the time. If Gaga releases an album, some people will think it's great and some people will think it's no good, and I am interested in reading why those people hold those opinions. I happen to love Free Woman, but lots of people have no time for it, and they have the right to have no time for it, and I'm interested in why they don't. Or Gaga sings at the inauguration and some people love it, and some people think it's ok but it fell short of 2016, but then you have to remember it was freezing and she was probably scared etc etc, and all that debate is legit and enjoyable.

That's the good stuff. But there's bad stuff too. The most obvious example of that is when people describe Gaga as lazy. That is an example of a word that is not acceptable. It's not a valid criticism of a piece of art that has been presented for criticism, it's a personal insult, and it shouldn't be happening. This isn't rocket science, any 3-figure IQ should get us all to this point quite easily.

Also, there are people on both sides of this argument who seem to be spoiling for a fight all the time. I wish they'd stop. More kindness please, to her Majestyness and to each other.

See, you care way more about their personal life than I do. While I'm aware fame doesn't make you happy, I'm done acting like I pity pop stars. It's a lifestyle people would kill for. Sure they have issues, but they're the definition of 1st world issue. And while they're valid, they're absolutely not gonna keep me from criticizing them cause like... I too have issues lol? Everyone has them, and the last thing I'm gonna do is act like a rich person's issues are an excuse to everything when minimum wage workers who have to provide for their kids can't afford to skip a day at work no matter how bad it gets.

I'm not talking about downright trashing celebrities (which, I mean, is also ok... they're sitting pretty on their millions, they don't give a **** what you think about them lol), but I'm not afraid to use the real words like I do with other celebrities. You guys have no problem calling Katy a fad (which... let's be realistic, at this point in her career, she is), and I have no problem calling Gaga a sell-out based on her behaviour the last years.

Sometimes being harsh is based.
