Born This Way, my song and album, were inspired by Carl Bean, a gay black religious activist who preached, sung and wrote about being “Born This Way.” Notably his early work was in 1975, 11 years before I was born. Thank you for decades of relentless love, bravery, and a reason to sing. So we can all feel joy, because we deserve joy. Because we deserve the right to inspire tolerance, acceptance, and freedom for all.

I think she said that when she was writing it she was imagining Whitney singing it because of how powerful her voice was but Idt the concept of the song was inspired by her

I mean, many people can inspire you to write a song and you don't have to share the whole list at the same time, you can share a person at the moment you feel is right and now it's the right moment for her to share it, I don't understand the nitpicking for her statement

It's more about how this song collided with his death so she felt it's a destiny for her to wwrote this song at that moment rather than being the inspiration.
