It didn't used to be this way. Just as recently as 10-20 years ago, rap used to have integrity and originality.

Once rappers stopped being individuals they fell into the "basic rap" pattern that sells. Just like basic pop (generic/cliche dance songs with no meaning) sells, so does "thug" rap from a bunch of kids who grew up with no problems that they didn't cause themselves by having self destructive habits and enormous egos

This thread isn't about rape, last time I checked. It's about TI being brought to justice because of his rapist ways. No one here is saying rape is good or whatever, but we are also not discussing the morality of it. We are not commenting on the victims. We are commenting about TI and things we relate him with. After all, the only reason most people specifically in this site know anything about him is because of that song.

I agree that it's inappropriate but at the same time, the actual allegations and possible trauma are between the victims, T.I., and law enforcement.

I certainly wouldn't want a bunch of strangers speculating and gossiping about my experiences  to me, that's also terribly inappropriate.

So people here might as well stick to talking about what they know rather than crucifying T.I. before he even has a trial or before calling these women liars when they haven't had an opportunity to tell their stories to the appropriate people yet.

I would say Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole (pretty big mainstream rappers) are amongst those who make rap/hiphop with integrity and originality
