I’m kind of confused about the whole thing tbh. There are some gheys on my Facebook posting that they support Israel and other gheys saying they support Palestine and they’re fighting over it. I have a basic concept of the what the conflict is about but why is this such a political issue can someone help me understand

World NEEDS to put its eyes on this situation, why do we keep acting like it isn't happening?

Because Israel is US' lapdog and they can't say anything without exposing their hypocritical ass.

IMHO, this is the ideal response the world should have on this matter. Condemn the violence and support a resolution. Posting which “side” you align with on social media is just deplorable.

Neutral tone but she doesn't need to prove her siding with Palestine. She's always been more skewed towards Palestine in this conflict (as should most ppl with morals and a consciousness). It is important to point out the suffering of Israel as well so this is good.

Plus she did include the death toll which CLEARLY shows that more Palestinians have died in this assault (as is the case all the time).

Her even speaking about it is great. She's always been vocal about this conflict compared to other popstars who say and do nothing or keep their thoughts private which is fine I guess but just lame.

The thing is 'popstars' who say or do something usually receive backlash one way or another, Rihanna is receiving backlash for this post even though there is nothing wrong with what she said.

Nope. Staying neutral is complicity. You dont enact change in comfort. You need to call out the perpetrator and in this conflict it has been Israel.

Israel has an apartheid government, Israel does not provide adequate drinking water to Palestinians (like sometimes they run water once a week for entire districts populated by Palestinians), Israel has nuclear weapons and one of the best armies....Palestine has janky makeshift rockets (horrible and wrong to have and use though), Palestinians are losing land each year & having their land illegally annexed - Israel is expanding, Palestinians are LEGALLY deemed as second class citizens due to the new citizen laws Israel enacted indicating that Israel is the homeland of the Jews and other people are essentially just there which relegated the Arabic language as a second class language despite it being spoken by like 20% of Israel's population and by millions of Palestinians in West Bank and Gaza who are directly impacted by such laws because both nations are intertwined whether they like it or not, thousands Palestinian kids are rendered handicapped by Israel's military with their arms blown off, their eyes blinded by gun bullet richochet etc.../ Israel has significantly less people dying in uprsiings and conflicts due to military supremacy (still any loss is horrible of course but puts things into perspective), Palestinians are under a blockade meaning trade is illegal with them, Israel is recognized by most of the world / Palestine is not, Palestine's borders make no sense due to illegal settlements that have rendered the West Bank into a swiss cheese territory (meaning literally every two blocks there are checkpoints and various Israeli settlements which thousands of illegal settlers) ETC ETC ETC...

I am sorry but complicity, silence or comfort is criminal and absolutely horrible. With that said, as I said in a previous post. Rihanna did the right thing here. She acknowledged the suffering of both sides but it is important that she points out the intense loss that Palestinians suffer which she has. She also understands that peace is a two way street BUT you got to get the biggest force in the game to comply a bit and to reign them in. Israel (especially under Netanyahu's administration) has been a cruel CRUEL state. A literal state that encourages ethnic cleansing. Is Palestine perfectly innocent? No way in HELL but we cannot equate the suffering of the Palestinians with the one of the Israelis. To do is simply cruel, obtuse and absolutely manipulative. Can't be neutral with that.

As an Israeli citizen I agree, no innocent civilians should die and it doesn’t matter if they’re Israeli or Palestinians.

I really hope it will end soon.

morals > backlash

that said, if an artist feels like they do not know enough about the topic I rather they stay silent tbh. So in some ways I appreciate those that are silent. But when an artist or celeb has the balls to speak out it's even more beautiful. But yeah I totally get the fear involved and the silence tbh.

It’s not staying neutral — it’s condemning the loss of innocent life and urging world leaders to seek peaceful resolutions.

She said nothing wrong. Just because she’s sorry for Israeli children doesn’t mean she’s neutral. :smh:
