The superstar singer is set to perform for her largest crowd yet in South Africa tonight, with the promoter expecting a crowd upwards of 80,000 people in attendance. It's only been four years since Gaga burst into the scene, and she's rivaling the likes of Madonna in touring capacity. It should be noted that Lady Gaga is the only contemporary artist currently that can sell out stadiums across all continents. The Born This Way Ball is expected to outgross her previous blockbuster show, The Monster Ball, with estimates of over $250 million dollars grossed before it's all set and done. Furthermore, the tour has a 100% sell-out rate currently with every date being filled. The tour comes off of the best selling 2011 American album, Born This Way, which sold over 7 million copies worldwide. The album's success follows The Fame and The Fame Monster, which also topped year-end lists for global sales. I will have had the honor of being part of the biggest crowd attending a Gaga show for 2 months, as the title previously belonged to the Paris show, with 75,000 people attending :) wow :eek: i can't wait to see the videos from this show Well... you can take a look at the Paris show too :P The crowd was pretty much as large there as it will be in SA tonight. Promoters tend to inflate numbers. Sometimes as much to 5-10,000 people, so we'll need to see. (For example, in Peru the promoter estimated 40,000 people, but the turnout was less than that.)
