YourEvilTwin 1,295 Posted March 22, 2021 Share Posted March 22, 2021 Although Gaga has certainly made a name for herself as an actress, "Lady Gaga" is just such a limiting name for a serious actress. Imagine if she ever stars in a film like Nomadland. Imagine the trailer being played in an arthouse theatre before some Palme d'Or winner, when the name "Lady Gaga" suddenly pops up inbetween all the rawness and grittiness. The audience would probably laugh their asses off. That is, if anyone is even willing to take chance on "Lady Gaga" for a film like that. It's a fine name for glossy studio films like ASIB and Gucci, but I imagine Gaga would want to stretch herself beyond that at some point. She's never been one to stick to what simply works after all. She is Lady Gaga, “rebranding” would do nothing and it is really unnecessary. Also I am pretty sure people take her and her stage name aka Lady Gaga pretty seriously! Lady Gaga makes me think of music, using it for acting is silly. Also, I don’t see acting to be as serious of an art form as music is, unless it’s voice acting.
