Why do celebrities always say this kind of bull crap? Physical attractiveness is a key part of success in today’s entertainment world, and to pretend it isn’t just screams entitlement, especially from people who were also born to wealthy parents. It’s a fact that attractiveness is a huge privilege in society.

She sounded like velvet! And it was just her on the stage, dunno if it was cause it was a festival or it was before her label wanted her to do "productions" w/ lil dances on stage. But she was basically strutting like a model and singing good too, looked like a star!

It's funny she said this while posing in a provactive photoshoot where she's really exposed and sexed up.

She's like Rihanna in that I doubt she'd ever be given the chance and time to develop and improve her skills if she wasn't pretty. 

I think she (or stans echoing her) are being willfully blind because she doesn't want to admit there is something to her stardom besides hardwork. It reminds me of nepotism kids like Lily Rose Depp who act like they got to where they are by talent, lol. Though, it's a hard question to answer because, I mean, what else is there to say other than to agree.

Girl...your looks are a HUGE part of trying to make it in the music industry! She is trying to sound woke, but she just ends up sounding naive and delusional. She is a white, pretty, and young woman in music...hardwork is a great personality trait, but everyone who hustles and has talent doesn't make it...looks are a factor when seeing what labels can SELL to the masses...image is everything! lol bye

I think what happened with Dua is what Gaga always talked about... the record labels always wanted to give her (Gaga´s) songs to prettier girls (Dua) who couldn´t write their own songs and who couldn´t sing a well as Gaga...

Because people like people who are pretty - same happens to pop stars and actors/actresses... (not always, but a lot of times)

 

 

Dua is one of the other "prettier" girls. (or let´s say "prettier in a conventional way")

And yes, she is very pretty. But I still think Gaga is hotter, more interesting and has that "special" thing to her that I can´t explain... charisma? I dunno

 

(Don´t get me wrong; I like Dua and I like listening to most of her songs a lot, but she doesn´t have the talent that Gaga has... the diversity, the range etc. )

I LOVE dua, but if she wasnt beautiful I dont think her voice and drive alone would have made her big.

Like she dosent play an instrument beautifully or been gigging all her life (Like Gaga, Taylor and many others) She was scouted into modelling for her looks and (although shes always wanted to be in music) managed to be noticed through that, she has a lot of talent but to say it didnt put her ahead of the game is a bit blind. Gaga did that despite not being traditionally 'beautiful' and had to literally scrape her way to the top.

No shade though, but she must know that
