I just finished the first season and... well who greenlighted this project at Netflix HQ ? 

While the story itself is ok (for the two boys because poor girl was put into such a useless arc that could have started into the second season - aka her meeting the Femen), the character and lore developments are full of... weird stereotypes (to be nice)

The big threat is coming from the East and is usually reffered as "the Eastern Threat" (I don't think I need to expend on that one, it's pretty clear) - you can also see that there are no Asians 

The Crimson Republic seemed to be the remnants of the European Union, though if you look closely it's a dictatorship ruled by a "Father" and its council of men  And let's not start to talk about the guy who sleeps with the girl because their arc was just as empty as it was ridiculous

The Crows who are the bad guys and the other big threat of the show are represented by what we usually know and see as a queer construct : from the high capitan, to the drugs, the clothes, the sexual slaves... So many stereotypes in one tribe 

The Femen, who are the opposite of the Crimsons : violent and heartless almost naked women who kill everybody with poison  They actually seem nice from the little we saw in the last episode. 

And you then have the "Origins" who are a small tribe close to nature, apparently all straights... and they are called Origins 

Then the two boys are like... one was clearly chosen for his body but his acting skills are quite good

But the one with the cube and the guy from Dark... geez, they have a good energy but the young one is not really good at acting until episode 5

And the girl... the creators wanted a Katniss Everdeen but while she doesn't know what she is doing (the actress) she was also given a horribly written story. Basically in a show you are supposed to have an evolution in the first season that will define the rest of the character later on. It does not happen. They made her a girl who fell in love with a sociopath and she doesn't really move or anything and you can see that they just wrote that so that she has her evolution in the second season with the Femen
