On the bright side artists might be working on their follow-up projects sooner than later if they aren't touring next year. So expect a lot of music. I wouldn't even put it past Ariana to release AG7 next year.

Even if it does, you'd still need distribution to happen which can and will take months to do. I mean, to get circulation to the point where COVID is no longer an issue larger than your average flu will take time.

I think she said in the interview she would like to drop another album before touring in 2022 because she liked the idea of touring with two albums

Many won't take it until it had been distributed widely for at least two months.  Then, if it has proven to be safe and effective in the general public for that long, people will jump on board.  My wife and I are two of those people who will wait and keep isolating until then.

i can see more resident shows happening vs touring.
resident shows, they can adapt to local ordinances much easier than trying to tour and match the different guidelines for each location.
