There’s a thread that was made in late 2018, and several monsters thought Shallow would only be a “m0dEratE SuccEss”. :ally: here’s some quotes from the thread “Can Shallow hit #1?”:

“I'm skeptical of that, I'd expect moderate success.”

“I doubt so, it will debut with good numbers but overall  it won't be a hit imo”

”lol no”

“I’m thinking something along the lines of Perfect Illusion success. ”

“Not against tacki tacki”

All hail SHALLOW :legend:

Little managers :yennefer:

It's clear from Million Reasons, Shallow, and Always Remember Us This Way that the GP wants Gaga to do power ballads. I know nothing about the current music biz and even I can see that :laughga:

Well the Joanne era was underwhelming for LMs in terms of success. Yes the album sold well and MR was a hit but overall it was a commercial downgrade from Gaga’s past eras. Really, it was very pleasantly surprising to see Shallow and ASIB get so much success and to see her career suddenly catapulting to new heights. But I wouldn’t have blamed anyone who didn’t see it coming.

I remember hearing Shallow for the first time and being disappointed that it sounded like 3 songs stuck together. I also thought ASIB would flop and get a 35% on Rotten Tomatoes. I was later granted a full scholarship to Clown College, and the rest is history

This was an official message from the Office of the First Lady.

yes and

So funny when something is successful, everyone shuts up immediately. I remember people hating MR, Shallow, ROM when it was only released, but when the songs are #1, no one says anything :bear:

Did you think I'd show up in a limousine? No

I knew the movie and the soundtrack was going to have massive success. I don't think I ever doubted Shallow.
