I'd say: Sarah McLachlan, Alanis, Jewel, Sheryl Crow, Dido, Cher, Tina Turner, Michelle Branch -- later years: Sara Bareilles, Jessie Ware, LDR, Amy Winehouse. EDIT: Forgot the Spice Girls!
