Writing down definitely does not help solve problems but at least it helps me remember since severe depression destroys your memory. Guest Posted September 12, 2020 Share Posted September 12, 2020 Writing things down truly helped me during a severe mental illness, it's not gonna solve all your problems but getting better is always a mix/blend of different things you do. I used to write down everything that bothered, my fears, my anger, my sadness, my suicidal thoughts in a piece of paper then I would go outside to talk a walk and Id bring that paper with me and put it in the trash and tell myself okay these emotions are now in the trash.
