Most likely because the 2018 film was the highest grossing in the franchise. They want to still have a stellar profit.

yeah but that could happen in summer 2021 too, the Conjuring made over $300 million, but the cool gag of having it release around the Halloween holiday makes sense for this movie obviously

Seeing an early screening of Halloween 2018 was one of the best nights of my life. I'm trying to remain positive and look forward to what next year should bring.. I was just seriously looking forward to/anticipating that kinda happiness high again and as soon as possible.
