I was actually reading that she did backing vocals for Britney. She actually looks more like P!nk rather than a beautiful pop princess like Britney was

They either seemed to sound like her, dress like her, or combination of both

 

 

Also, for a reverse Britney wanna-be experience, here is one-hit wonder A'me Lorain who had a big hit "Whole Wide World" hit in 1990.  The rest of her album was much more indie than that single, and apparently she had no interest in really being a mainstream pop diva. It probably wasn't just a coincidence that early Britney resembled and sounded like her.  Allegedly her handlers and producers in the late 90s were searching for someone with the same appeal (look and voice) but update it for the new millenium.
