And they have had some efforts already that definitely felt like that (Billie losing her own genre - pop album - to Lizzo and then winning AOTY was suspicious, almost like they gave pop album to Lizzo because Billie was sweeping otherwise). But based on past trends, I think they don't really do that for AOTY.
