RS gave it an 80 and Metacritic counted it on Jun 1st :-)

Fifth one down on https://www.metacritic.com/music/chromatica/lady-gaga/critic-reviews

But agreed, It's hanging on by a thread and one mixed review or any review below 81 will bring it down again.

Thanks I didn't see that. How come nobody posted it

She's doing amazing, if only it wasn't for that 50/100 slant review bringing down the average :madge:

Who had the audacity? :triggered:

Probably because it came out same day as a bunch of others.

That was such a great read. It feels good as a fan of Gaga (and the album) to see a major critic see the true soul of this project and give it its due. The subject matter is crystal clear in every single song, and all of it feels essential to the story. It's like every single one of these bangers could be re-arranged into an emotional ballad. She could easily release a remix of this album but slow them all down, and it'd be a crier.

I feel like this was one of the few reviewers so far that sounded like they actually listened to the album.

Kind of wondering if it will stay in the 80s...Slant, Pitchfork, and the NYT tend to be the harshest on her and two out of three have already been added to metacritic. NYT will probably drop her score but other reviews might bump it back up.

Imagine how shook we will all be if NYT praises the album? :bradley:
