The musicality is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical epigenetics most of the references will go over a typical listener's head. There's also Gaga's experimental outlook, which is deftly woven into her lyrics- her personal philosophy draws heavily from Marina Abramovic art, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the layers of these songs, to realise that they're not just bops- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Chromatica truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the depth in Chromatica's existential catchphrase "In #Chromatica no one thing is greater than another," which itself is a cryptic reference to her own epic "Channel Kindness". I'm screaming right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Lady Gaga's genius wit unfolds itself on their Spotify accounts. What locals.. how I pity them. 😂 In Chromatica, no plebs are allowed.
