What's your favorite gay film?

A few weeks ago I watched Plaire, aimer et courir vite (dir. C. Honoré, 2018) and I was blown away by it. Instantly became one of my favorite films. A few others worth mentioning are The Way He Looks (dir. D. Ribeiro, 2014) and Holding The Man (dir. N. Armfield, 2016).

I love watching queer films that are raw and unafraid of portraying difficult situations but at the end of the day the ones with happy endings usually end up being my favorite ones.

Jongens. There’s just something about it that fills my heart with warmth everytime I watch it. :kara:

Shortbus, Brokeback Mountain, Alex Strangelove are all 5/5

Call Me By Your Name is like a 4 maybe 4.5/5

Handsome Devil was also SUPER cute even my not very gay accepting mom loved it. probs like a 4.5/5.

Brokeback Mountain's a classic.

I actually haven't seen that many, I'll be looking through this thread for suggestions. I want gay love stories that aren't stereotypical or too cliché.

Some of y'all will hate me for this but Call Me By Your Name was so overrated.... That ending. :(

Love, Simon was so heartwarming, it made me so happy to see the momentum it got. I'm so glad for the queer kids out there living their teenage years knowing they have media like these to reflect on

Moonlight

Probably the most phenomenal film I've seen in recent years. I get chills just thinking about it.

Depends on what you consider cliché but the ones I mentioned are all powerful and moving, give them a try!
