Lady Gaga Twitter: Calls Out Leaders

I feel like there's not the "drama" or "dragging" as some fans are reading into this? Not everything is a soap opera—this reads more as raising awareness of certain causes. And I'm pretty sure Macron is too busy to take a phone call, but at least she might catch someone in the government's attention by tweeting this out.

Anyway, she's a public figure thanking leaders of stepping up, and saying "it's fantastic, can you do a bit more." She's not using her charity effort to drag Trump and Bolsanro, even if those two deserve to be dragged for filth, because she's not being explicitly political in this case because in some ways this virus isn't "political" like gay marriage, BLM, or universal healthcare. How it is being badly handled is political, but the act of raising money doesn't have to be political for this particular cause. Furthermore, if she turned into "Trump is a monster" that's what the media would run with instead of "Gaga's charity concert is on Saturday". It would basically overshadow everything else. Plus, WHO SUCKS but the public wouldn't react well to a celebrity going "WHO is terrible." That's for doctors and politicians to make clear.

TLDR: She can never do right by some fans, and this is coming from someone who acknowledges Gaga's f*ck ups.

Some monsters always want drama and they'll turn on Gaga for it....plus they can be entitled as f*ck. For example, people coming for her for not criticizing W.H.O......I hate W.H.O., and I don't think it's Gaga's place to slam them & I think there would be immense backlash if she did so by the GP.  I think in general, she's handling this charity + raising awareness in a kind of non political way (which is unusual for her), so she's not going to be slamming people so much as gently trying to prod leaders to donate/spend more $ on causes.

it’s a shade against him, doesnt consider him a leader. And y’all say why hasn’t she called him out...

It's because I don't think she's really "calling people out" in the dramatic way people are interpreting or wanting her to do so...it's more like she's gently prodding leaders for more awareness & money instead of going "Trudeau sucks".  I get it, the way it's being handled is political, but the disease itself is not a "political" thing unlike some diseases....well, technically it is if you want to delve into how some POC are being more affected (probably due to social situations like having to work in more high risk jobs) but that's very nuanced & there's not even scientific proof yet & it might not be the thing to bring up right now when it's just a general cause to raise $

 

Trump's a lost cause, as you said, but others aren't.

it’s sad, because obviously she wants us to have the music but so many of her fans are jobless and vulnerable right now. I couldn’t afford her new album if I wanted to because I don’t know when I’m gonna have another paycheck. 

Music is literally free in 2020, even without a Spotify account. It's not 2003. No one's choosing between Chromatica and toiler paper. 

Second, if you guys look at the replies to her tweet, regardless of who they're from, the optics are not in her favor and the response was overwhelmingly negative, in fact even more negative than the fears people had about her "releasing music during a crisis." It's a very sharp pivot from the acclaim she got Post-ASIB and as a fan I like it when everyone's on her side. Now, going into the release, that won't be the case, as it might have been had she released before all of this happened. I still love her, and looking at it objectively doesn't take away from that.

Yeah no if you don’t think she should’ve released something in 2008 during the financial crisis or in the aftermath of 9/11 she shouldn’t release it here either. Releasing an album about battling for your life the same week as the viruses deadliest days in your home state is an idiotic PR move and I don’t give a **** how bad you wanted the music nothing is going to change that
