Bhad Bhabie's transformation sparks Blackfishing accusations

Tragedy struck Earth tonight as the African-Americans that are the descendants of an ancient civilization with a rich history and culture, were completely and utterly annihilated by a woman’s skin color. The culture began to violently disintegrate as Danielle Bregoli (Whitesville, Florida) put some fake tan on her white skin. The melanin levels of the African-American people and their ancestors had remained the same for thirty thousand years, not changing with the various settlement areas, unlike every other race in history. Bhad Bhabie’s sacrilegious action quickly destabilized the emotional, social, financial and economic position of all the African-American people, creating a temporal paradox that removed African-American culture from history. “She literally erased our culture” said Alicia Garza, as the space-time anomaly tore her body apart on an atomic level.

Life imitates art.

Well... :ladyhaha:. It's her body anyways, if she thinks black women's aesthetic looks great, and thinks of those features as desirable for herself, I cannot judge that.

People literally change their gender now. She wants to look darker, who cares, at the end of the day that's her body and she's harming no one.

I do not think this is the same as cultural apropriation. It's her body and her skin, we can't tell people how to feel comfortable with themselves, that's not our place.

Imagine being so ignorant that you’d compare changing genders and cultural appropriation. I think it’s fair for  people of color -black people in particular - to be upset about someone trying to appear black considering all that they’ve been through and still go through just because of the color of our skin! At the end of the day she can take off the spray tan/makeup and she’ll still be a privileged white woman who became famous for disrespecting her mother on national television. People of color can’t just remove their skin to avoid the racism they deal with on a daily basis and saying “women don’t complain when men change their gender so people of color shouldn’t” is very ignorant and insensitive and exactly what you’d expect to hear from another privileged white person.

The way I knew the EXACT members who would make the ignorant comments I had to read through the past 9 pages... you can’t make this sh*t up:billie:

What Bhad Bhabie is doing is disturbing and absolutely wrong. It’s so funny how people like her LOVE the aesthetic of being a black woman, but could NEVER go through the discrimination and degradation and the bullsh*t that black women go through everyday. For years and years they were made fun of and harassed for their features but now it’s seen as popular... This child is tone deaf and is a classic example of a child who has never been disciplined properly and the people who made her famous should be ashamed of themselves.

Blackfishing and attempting to change your race is NOT ok and the fact some of you would even attempt to normalize it is disturbing.

100% everything you said. How can people think this is literally just a tan and that she's NOT trying to look like a black woman? Literally go onto her insta. This is disgusting what she is doing and I'm disturbed at the people defending it.

I'm not personally offended but I see why it's problematic. PoC had to fight for the community and recognition they have now, to have some little white girl come along and feed off it is lowkey gross.

I want to know why she's doing it though :enigma: what does she get out of it other than controversy?

She's emulating black culture, it's not just her appearance. Some people find that distasteful or downright offensive.

I'm not one of those people 'cause I couldn't care less about this chick but I see where they're coming from :hmm:

How can people on this site be so transphobic and ignorant? It's baffling.

Michael Jackson had vitiligo

Michael Jackson bleached his skin. Vitiligo is extremely patchy. He probably bleached his skin because he had vitiligo and he wanted to even it out, but he still did it. He also got rid of his black nose, wore straight wigs, got a clef chin, and wore color contacts from time to time. Was he trying to look white? Who knows, but he was def trying to look completely different from himself.

Anyway, I ask the question- how is this black face? Wigs made from Indian or Indonesian hair are not black traits. Black women are the biggest consumers of wigs made from Asian or South American hair. Tan skin is not a black trait, unless you have admixture in your DNA. So her wearing an hair from Indonesia, and tanning her skin is just her enhancing her appearance. People of all races do it. A lot of White leople love to tan, curl their hair. A lot of Black people love to wear lighter highlighter and other make up, and lighter colored wigs. Who gives a damn? Not every single thing Is black face or cultural appropriation. There is nothing in that picture of her that is appropriating black or African culture.
