The plot was confusing from what I remember, Danganropa was all just a famous thing and wasn’t real? Like it doesn't negate the storyline of the Hope Academy arc, but uses it as a prop for it's own ridiculous story. So in Danganronpa V3, yes, Danganronpa's entire storyline is negated. But as a whole? Not really. I think it's left ambiguous solely for that situation. Like I said, personally, I keep the canon of V3 away from Hope's Peak Academy because they are seperate stories and Hope's Peak ended with the anime.
