I really donā€™t like that expression ā€œbreak the internetā€. The internet is indestructible at this point. And the expression gets used for things that happen all the time.

Yet Barbie will still be a blond white woman in the upcoming movie.Ā

Yet weā€™re still going to have people complaining over minuscule things :rip:Ā

I love this. They also came out with Barbie without makeup which is awesome. It takes the pressure off the young girls.Ā

Really what? It's true. If they really want Barbie to be diverse, she should also be that in the movie. We have too many movies where Barbie is a blond white woman. I can't see why she can't for example be a black woman in the upcoming movie.Ā

I remember when people begged and criticized Mattel for not having dolls that were realistic. People would smear these words and say go start your own business. People did but thenĀ the smears became ā€œattention *****. Thereā€™s people with no money for a doll.ā€

Thereā€™s a psychology test with children and they ask which is the pretty doll and which is the ugly. It always breaks my heart seeing the black child tell the tester that the ugly doll was the black doll.
Ā

Iā€™m all for diversity. Mattel have come a long way and I hope the future isnā€™t ā€œsales were low so the dolls are discontinuedā€Ā

But the environmental impact making these dolls need to be discussed as well. How are they recycled? How are the fumes polluting ourĀ air from the factories being cleansed and removed?
