Gaga is the QUEEN of making pop music with an edge, a story and a deeper meaning. However after 6 years of no pop album any pop is a blessing. I also think its a safe option, like 'dont start now' it fun, catchy, and simple. Gaga can do deeper meanings brilliantly, but most people dont understand, other than monsters. The GP don't look into any meanings, and she needs to win the GP back after being away from the pop spotlight for so long. When I tell my friends who aren't monsters the deeper meaning to G.U.Y they just look confused. I think its a smart move making something radio friendly and simple and catchy. We all know what Gaga is capable of and she has proved to us in the past she can deliver quality music no matter simple or complex. It irks me how some fans jump ship and change their minds on what they want so frequently.  One moment fans want a TF/TFM return with her content being less serious than Joanne and ASIB. Next moment they become accustom to the seriousGa they look down on when she does something fun and generic like. I believe its a safe and smart move to return after 4 years with a pop song like this.
