Stephen 29,409
Obviously performance wise ITZ was superior but I think I prefer the Blackout album. I can boil ITZ down to my two favorites being Toxic and Breathe on Me, but that’s harder for me to do with Blackout. There’s so many great songs. Definitely her best 2 albums. In The Zone is much more complex, it has sounds from all over the world, Britney doesn’t sound like Google Translator last and the songs are much more enjoyable. I thought this post deserved a bump when one look's at the mental gymnastics Pitchfork and other pathetic music critics do for Aaliyah but not doing the same for Britney. I can talk all day about Britney composing Everytime because Aaliyah didn't write a shred of that extremely critically praised self-titled album of hers. Therefore Everytime stands artistically above whatever Aaliyah has ever put out. Period. RIP Aaliyah and she, along with Brandy and Monica, in many ways paved the way for Britney (especially for her first three eras) and Xtina, Beyonce But credit to where credit is due.
