As a writer, JK Rowling should know that language is constantly changing and the concept of sex and gender is changing at a fast pace. We as a society are in a period of transition in regards to gender. So we should open our minds to new definitions and stop trying to shoehorn archaic ideas into people's heads. 

At the end of the day, WHAT DOES IT MATTER? How does a trans person's identity and sex affect you? She sounds utterly backwards in her views and for a smart, educated woman who has often spoken a lot of sense and who comes from a humble background, this is truly baffling and deeply disappointing.

Harry Potter can choke. Hermione Granger can rot. Ron Weasley found dead in a ditch.

I didn't know this about her. This was really upsetting to read, and I'm definitely done consuming any media she's a part of.

That said, all of her mentions on Twitter are definitely making me feel better. My favorite is the resurgence of the "Harry Potter and the Audacity of this B*tch" meme

Harry Potter series and franchise will NEVER get cancelled. The cultural impact and worldwide phenomenon it has is still out of this world even after all this years. I myself will forever support Harry Potter series and franchise. That being said, I don’t support with whatever jk rowling is saying right now. She should’ve kept her mouth shut.

It's funny, how she always seemed open and enjoyed Fan's improvements and fanfics.
