Lover is the only album to sell 1 million copies in 2019

Taylor Swift is putting a bow on an incredibly fruitful decade with one more milestone, as her latest album Lover has become the only album of 2019 to sell over 1 million “pure” copies, Chart Data reports.

Pure sales constitute album sales based exclusively on Nielsen SoundScan data, i.e. physical and digital album sales. They do not include album-equivalent units derived from streaming and individual track downloads. In other words, if you ruled out streaming and song downloads, Lover would be the only album of 2019 to be eligible for a platinum certification.
