She barely promoted her songs but her album was phenomenal and a global sensation. It's from an acclaimed 8-time Oscar nominated movie which has already spawned the most awarded song in history. Shallow became the second most successful Lady Gaga song after Bad Romance. And it's also not the typical radio trendy music that some other competitors' albums are (TUN, for example).
