Cuz the word “trans” i believe comes from the root word transverse meaning opposite since we used to view only 2 genders, it was one or the other. So if u werent your birth sex, you were trans but non-binary takes away the 2 way opposite aspect no longer making the word make sense at its root not that its important anyway. I dont think getting too technical about terminology is the most important thing... but just a thought I think you’re right about the root word, but I believe the word transgender has become more of an umbrella term over time for people who don’t identify with their biological sex. Which is why i said the technicalities arent the most important thing Ive seen threads where ppl argued for 4 of 5 pages over the word “socialism” when users meant it as an umbrella term commonly now used simply to refer to left wing politics while other users insisted it wasnt being used correctly because it was technically democratic socialist or i forget what type it was exactly the point is the discussion got lost because they ended up debating about the technical definition of the word even tho everyone knew exactly what was meant so i thought it was so stupid to waste time arguing about that if u already knew what the person meant when they said socialism thats why i said “just a thought” but that it wasnt really important anyway Languages evolve. Theres many words that are no longer being used the exact correct way by their original definition. As long as everyone understands the message and whats meant, thats the important thing. Technical details dont always have to matter so much

Also, two of my best friends are non-binary and they consider themselves to be trans. I would say it all depends on how you identify. However, I’d say that non-binary people are trans because they don’t identify with their biological sex. That's why I said whether through surgery or otherwise as I realize not all people who are trans have surgery. I guess it does some down to how one identifies on whether they're trans and non-binary though. I would say they are not mutually exclusive but there is certainly a difference and distinction between them.

One of Gaga's major contributions, according to both women, was taking a song that was somber throughout and making it increasingly triumphant and defiant as it progressed. Things Diane doesn't do: Write a somber ballad. Making songs that are increasingly triumphant are pretty much Diane's bread and butter. Anyways who cares. The song didn't win regardless of who wrote it or arranged it.
