It's the hair. Made their faces look fuller. And probably some shiny makeup too.

They're a soft pop rock band, their songs are pretty neat. Este (the eldest of the three) actually did the percussion on A-YO with Gaga.

They're not huge but definitely well-known, yeah. I think they're more popular among indieheads and alt pop fans than anything else.
