Canada Tax Plans For Elections: Party Comparison

On a more serious note, I find that talking about taxes make me frustrated. There's never seem to be a perfect answer or solution or balance for taxes.

Tax the rich. No, don't tax them.

Are we expected to pay this with taxes? No I don't want to pay for these. I want these other services.

And so on.

My main concern is people and big corporations being sneaky around taxes. Some big companies (like Netflix and Amazon) have paid $0 in taxes. Now, I don't know if that's American or Canadian taxes, but if they avoid in one, they're surely avoiding in the other. Some people with higher salaries write off random things as business expenses like vacations or a new car.

Our economies would benefit if big companies pay their due. I pay my share, why don't they? If that means less Netflix original movies to stream, I would not care, not one rat's a$$.

I fell down the stairs once as an actor.

The reason theyve paid no taxes is because they remain unprofitable

they are investing in growth more quickly than revenue they get in so they are running losses and funding their growth thru debt

maybe thats not so bad... if companies actually expand and create jobs they made their economic contribution

the biggest issue with money being hoarded at the top is when the money isnt being invested and so no new jobs and economic benefits come put of their profits

in any case, despite running losses taxes is still collected by investors who invested in amazon and netflix stocks and made profits

so the company itself isnt paying taxes due to running losses but its biggest shareholders (owners basically) have a lot of taxes to pay if they ever wanna cash in those profits
