In retrospect: What was so special about the Bad Romance video?

There was just so much technology integrated into the music video. The big eyes that Gaga had, the diamonds from the ceiling photoshopped into the shot, her standing in the shower with an exaggerated spine. It was just so unique for the time period. She also integrated a ton of unique fashion which just made it that much better. This all has become much more normal since then, but she was one of the first pioneers for that kind of stuff and continues to try to push the limits with technology integrated into performance (David Bowie tribute with the light effects, super bowl performance with the drones, etc.).
