weed 66,319
Maybe it’s much smaller bc of the healthcare system in Sweden. Here his bill would be much higher so ig ASAP would’ve had to pay much more? Or maybe they’re less sue-frenzied idk. Good but also meh

I agree. I guess it would've been jail if they could've proven that the bottle was used in the fight but unfortunately there wasn't any evidence of that. It means instead of jail time, he was given a probation of about 1 to 3 years during which if he commits a (similar or severe) crime, the probation period will be served in jail. This is very in line with similar cases. It's just a "normal" assault. Also since ppl are wondering, the 1300 $ in damages is compensatory damages, meaning for temporary pain and suffering caused by the act. It can also include medical cost or similar directly related costs (which are usually like less than 50$). We don't have any (silly) punitative damages in our legal system (statutory law instead of common law) here in the Nort or Europe excluding UK and Ireland. That's why the damages are "so small". The 1300$ is also not a fine. They could have also given a small fine or community service on top of the probation, however nothing in this case would warrant such added sentence. This case has been such a laughing stock here. 😂 Most for Trump thinking like moron that anyone here would listen to an adult baby tantrums or that ANY politician, Prime minister or not, could in any circumstances influence or intervene in the judicial system's matter. To even try is a crime here.
