The fact that they're folding to the pressure of that proven false gore p*rn just makes them even more irrelevant imo. It's so stupid. The GP knows MJ is innocent, that's why his streaming and sales exploded after the mockumentary was out and why the "ban" on his music lasted a whole week until the two "victims'" fairytales were exposed hard.

So go ahead and take his name off it. Just lose one more star whose clout you can exploit to advertise your dying award show while all the real artists are out there winning real awards, not some garbage handed out by the shell of what was once MTV who, I might add, experienced an enormous boost in popularity after airing a certain video and performance by Michael f*cking Jackson 

And yes, you're damn right I'm pissed about this  consider me on the music "reality" televison hate bandwagon.

They think their brand will suffer from having MJ's name associated with an award. LMAO. A brand that once aired shows and music videos (like Thriller) that broke racial barriers and changed entertainment history has become the platform for shows like Teen Mom

I know MTV only gives the vanguard to artists with Music Video History, but I truly feel that Gaga should receive it for her contribution to Music and Pop Culture in general. She deserves it 100%. When she came to prominence, she changed the game!
