After ten years of loving Gaga and her music, ASIB sent me over the edge to GGD. I lurked for awhile, loved being with other crazy excited people and then surprised myself by joining. There are many smart, funny, beautiful people on GGD. I have been unpleasantly surprised to also find threads that aren't just negative but insulting and pretty hateful. Inventing or spreading sh!tty stories. Lots of times marked funny. There are very funny threads on GGD. Those threads aren't funny. I try to avoid them but the thread is THERE when I open GGD. Sorry. This is almost a rant. I'm a quiet person and I never rant. Gaga and her music are part of my life. That won't ever change. The appeal of GGD for me was being part of a community of people who love this amazing person. Â If I can't deal with the negative stuff, that's really on me. You can't control little monsters. It's just laugh after laugh. And of course there are such talented people here who share their art or whatever they do with us and I love that about this community. And all the friendships that have blossomed here are beautiful to watch. I am myself more of a loner on here - I get on posting sprees, usually fueled by alcohol, and then radio silence for days/weeks - but you just feel the love everywhere on here. The meltdowns we share as Gaga fans, the inside jokes, the soccer moms, the Shallowbucks, this fanbase just cannot stop being iconic.
