mzncb 332
This never made sense to me. The last time I checked, like Britney (with '...Baby One More Time', 'Oops I Did it Again' and 'Toxic'), Christina Aguilera wrote neither of her signature hits, 'Genie in a Bottle' or 'Beautiful'. As for the rest of the songs Christina may have written, Britney has a bunch in her discography too.
Ryusei 59,879
people have always been selective like that. Like the good ol' "Gaga can't sing" back in the day. Why did anyone say that? makes no sense Musery

whore 11,440
Because Britney has always had the "dumb blonde" image, whether it be true or not, and no one wants to believe she writes her own music. Though as a Britney fan I must admit she does not write as many songs as I would like to believe, though the songs that have writing credits ("Everytime," "Someday (I Will Understand)") have exceptional songwriting. TropicOfCANCER 6,292
Because Christina does work heavily on the crafting of her music, including lyrics, and vocal and overall production. She only really took a backseat with her debut album and lotus, but everything else has been the result of her own vision and effort. She was an executive producer on back to basics and every single song was cowritten by her. Also, Christina heavily wrote on “fighter” and “ain’t no other man,” some of her other signature songs. holy scheisse 20,061
Britney didn't write baby one more time. Can't remember where but there is a film/interview with her stating that she was given several records and upon hearing baby one more time, she knew that was the song she wanted to record. Supersonic 49,371
Christina wrote 88 of her 126 released songs, which amounts to 70% of her released discography. Britney worte 47 of her 151 released songs, which amounts to 31% of her released discography. All tracks used were either album tracks/stand-alone singles, no interludes. People said it, because it is factual reality Brenda. Next question.

Heavily would refer to the overall amount of contribution to the crafting of lyrics. Not sure what the content of the song itself has to do with the contribution made to its creation. Seems like a bit of a false equivalency going on here, but go off I guess.

Whats wrong with writing silly lyrics? You said "works heavily on her lyrics" which is blatantly not true given that, even with the help of 3 other people, she still couldn't do anything more than a basic chorus Meanwhile she is named as a writer on songs as Oh Mother and I’m OK. Very personal songs talking about her very abusive father. Sure, you can pick a silly song to strengthen your statement but it’s not fair.
