Max Martin should be canceled

Max Martin had been a long time collaborator of Dr Luke, and co-produced with him many songs for Katy and for Kesha.

It's quite evident the situation that happened between Kesha and Dr Luke that Max Martin should have had some knowledge about it, yet he kept on going like nothing happened. Even Kesha's mom said that he knew about it.

That's a very disturbing thing, as it just shows that this industry and people like him just care about his bank account more than the well-being of his co-workers. And even more when sexual abuse is involved.

He distanced himself from Luke long ago and doesn’t work with him anymore. Martin does his own thing with Shellback, has been for years.

Did this post come from 2015? You can’t just cancel everyone who’s worked with an abuser or you’d have to cancel Gaga 10x over, lmao

Many of these people are twisted and evil. Think of the problems Gaga has had within the industry... and we probably only know about 0.5% of it. Think of all of the super stars who’ve had tragic lives, massive breakdowns, overdosed ect. Look what they did to Judy Garland, Michael Jackson, Marylin, Britney, Kesha ect. There’s so much we don’t know

I don't think someone should be "cancelled" based on assumptions... that's taking the cancel-culture to a whole new level of no.

There is probably SO MUCH dirt in the music industry that the industry as a whole wouldnt be able to function anymore if anyone who knows about some dirt would be cancelled as wrong as it is, the world is f*cked up especially when a lot of power and money is involved

There's going to be bad apples everywhere, especially where there is an absolute power structure.

Purr more, hiss less.

I agree, pretty much.

It's not like you're demanding we cancel P!nk or Bonnie McKee for working with him; you're not calling out people who probably remained silent because their own situtations and livlihoods put them at risk and/or made them powerless to speak out in a way that would help... No, you're calling out Dr. Luke's progenitor and right-hand man who is in the unique position, as a credible witness everyone knows is intimate friends with Luke, to speak to memories he has of Luke that line up with what Kesha and others have accused Luke of.

People are so quick to act like it's only okay to "cancel" the most undeniably horrible people. It shouldn't be so hard for people to understand that there's a difference between being a powerless (and often disempowered) bystander and being a tacit accomplice.

Max Martin surely knows where the skeletons are buried, and it's despicable that he or anyone with that kind of knowledge hasn't more actively voiced support for Kesha and the chorus of industry voices that have described of behavior from Luke that is less heinous but tonally consistent with what all we've already heard.

This.

And, by this logic we should have cancelled Gaga ages ago. It was well known what R Kelly was into by 2013, and only recently have the more serious allegations and confirmations came out.

Max Martin distanced himself from Dr Luke immediately after what transpired about him and Kesha.

We don’t know what happened behind the scenes. Maybe the women didn’t want him to speak up, maybe his own livelihood was threatened and he was just as scared, maybe he really didn’t know what was happening. What happened to Kesha was awful but at some point when trying to do too much good, you end up doing more bad. The entirety of cancel culture is beyond stupid imo it’s just mob mentality. Did anyone read the crucible in high school? Mob mentality like this may work at first but eventually the mob will eat anything it’s fed.

This is the hugest bullshit I ever seen here ! So now, if you have a rapist/killer/thief or whaterver wrong thing friend, brother, mother or girlfriend you should be to on a trial too ? That is Nonsense. Ppl are not responsable for the desision of others adults.

Note to yourself, ppl need money to live. Max Martin made music. He works with singers. Period.

Plus, do the concept of "The benefit of the doubt" means something to you ? No ? "Regard someone as innocent until proven otherwise". Because it's the base of our justice. You don't know what was happen between Kesha and Dr Luke. But YOU decided he was guilty, with no evidences. That's not justice, that's tyranny, nothing more.

Yeah I agree it’s a disgrace in how silent is has been during the Kesha case but he has distanced him from Luke so I don’t think he deserves to be cancelled. I just think we should frown upon him
