The rep album isn't even two years old yet. I'm so so so excited for new music, but I'm also still bopping to Reputation and don't want my attention to be diverted lol. From 2009-2013 (5 years) we had four pop albums with unique styles. 2014-2019 (6 years) has been 3 albums of covers, a countryesque slow album, and a movie soundtrack.  The fans want a POP album again.
