How is the Vegas residency fair to her fans?

making a case that it might not be "fair" to some fans who can't afford it can be a reasonable argument, but bringing "white privilege" into it is dumb.  Gaga is not being racist by being in Vegas.

I never said she was racist, you're literally putting words into my mouth. I am saying she has been, for a while now, targeting a whiter American audience with Joanne illustrating this. Vegas is another demonstration of this.

Because not everybody can experience this amazing show because not everyone's from rich, middle-upper class America? She should do fewer dates that are stadiums then like Adele. At least that gives fans a fair chance to see her even if tickets sell out quickly.

I went opening night and I can assure you I am not rich nor middle-upper class. I guess she can't make everyone, including you, happy :interestinga:

Okay let me rephrase this then. How is Gaga doing a Vegas residency for 3 years fair for her normal fans who can't afford to come to Vegas to see her? Ever since the Joanne album campaign Gaga has been appealing to a whiter American audience who uphold the privileges of white culture. I feel like with the Vegas residency it's the same thing considering it's in Vegas and only rich white gays can afford to go there. What about her fans in Asia? What about her fans in Europe? This is extremely unfair for her wider audience who had to face cancellation from her last tour too.

Woah, don't go there, this is insanely racist.

I appreciate the point, but really she could just do half the amount of shows... Plus, she seems tonnes better.

If she can travel around the country and world for ASIB and do a residency in Vegas, she can do a tour.

The health point is growing weak.

Clearly you were wealthy enough and privileged enough to afford it though. Not everybody has that sweetie. Some of us struggle to pay rent and put food on the table.

I was lucky enough to go and I do feel bad for those who can't, but it isn't right to just put people who have gone in a category as "white, rich and upper-middle class." It's just not right...

If you have ever been to any Gaga show, then somewhere somebody else would consider you to have a level of privilege they don't have because they wouldn't be able to afford to go to a show even if it was local.  Your argument degenerates into "Gaga should travel the world and play for free."

Correct, she is not racist. But you sure are by imputing such vile motives to her.

You do know that her concert tickets are usually expensive in other places too. We spent £350 on Gaga tickets and that was a heck of a lot of money to us, but I had waited for like 8 years to see her, and then it was cancelled. I'm not bitter about Vegas, it's her choice and her artistry. You should be grateful that she's here able to perform for us. All the artist I stan are dead. Enjoy her while she's here performing for us.

My immediate reaction is always to say that the residency helps with her health. But thinking about it again, how is a residency less strenuous than touring? Is the static location that much of a saver? Thoughts?
Regardless, no it's not fair, but it doesn't need to be. You're dealing with a multi million dollar product. Some will win, some lose. That's the game. Luckily Gaga is compassionate and tries her best.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

What's wrong with challenging the racial power structures of middle America? The truth is you're just uncomfortable because for once in history, ethnic minority people are calling out these issues and uprising towards the white privilege our society is coated in. White people no longer have a monopoly over public discourse; ethnic minorities now have control over that dialogue too. Get used to it.
