With Christina, that's become her signature style, even more so than Gaga's stutters like "m-m-m-m-ma" or "rah-rah" or "shala-la-la-low" because Gaga does it in her big songs but Christina does it every single time. She only goes to the higher register/octave a few times and not even once in the first verse even though she could've chosen to make it frilly like that. But it would've been a mess. Christina has put herself into this box that's hard to get out of because now people know her for it. I remember I watched this episode of Drag Race with a surprise guest and she started doing her melismas in the background and everyone knew who she was immediately.
