Winning NBR doesnt mean you wont get nominated, all 12 NBR winners in acting categories from the last 3 years got nominated except Tom Hanks and Amy Adams. Greta Gerwig won NBR best director last year yet she also made a history by being the 5th woman to score an oscar nomination for best director.
