Concept: Greatest Hits Album

I keep thinking about how Gaga will likely have a Greatest Hits album in the next few years, and I can't help but dread that. Greatest Hits album is so unimportant in the digital age. Everyone HAS the songs, they can make their own playlists, etc. However, I was wondering how Gaga could make a unique Greatest Hits album that would ACTUALLY make people buy/stream it.

I think making it a "story" of sorts would help. There would be spoken interludes before each section of songs. Then, most of the songs would be remastered/acoustic/reimagined in a way that sonically sounds SO different than the original it would pique people's curiosity to hear it. Throughout the album, there are even treats for fans and listeners alike that give bigger moments in her career the studio version they deserve.

It's massive (way too big for one single album) and it's never gonna happen, but I enjoyed making the concept.

Thoughts?

I think including various renditions would be a good idea.  For example, she can have a piano version of Applause.:flutter:

It's a nice idea but I think she'd still suffer from the lack of interest you described about compilations in general (maybe even more because it's all remixes and re-imagined versions).

I think she's better off throwing some acoustic, jazz, country, whatever renditions of her old pop hits for free on Spotify as a fun side project. She should only release a greatest hits album when she has enough material to fill two cd's tbh.

"Dope (Acapella)"

Ngl, I giggled a bit reading that. Sounds like the song everyone would skip tbh :icega:

Now what could work is if she played on the whole LADY and GAGA thing and released a compilation (with new or rare songs) of her pop career and one of her more "classy" career, with special collector's editions which combine the two with an iconic set of pictures, a book, etc.

Another option is if the LADY album was a collection of acoustic, jazz, country whatever covers of her hits that matches the GAGA originals.

I could see that selling :koons:

I don't know why but I dont think Gaga is into "greatest hits" albums and adding a couple new tracks lol

Plus I think shes self conscious about not having enough "hit" material....just cuz a song became a single doesnt make it a hit...

Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!

I know it's a fantasy tracklist, but if someone's actually expecting her to release something like that, they'll be very dissapointed with Gaga's releases forever, imo.

I honestly don’t think people would be excited for acoustic/acapella rendition of the songs... :huntyga:

I had an idea about this. New versions of all her hits paired with a cover of another artists track released the same month.

Just dance - That green gentleman

Poker face - sex on fire

Paparazzi - when love takes over

Etc. It would be cute.
