So it seems like...

  Hide contents

[Bradley verse]

Tell me something girl

Are you happy in this modern world

Or do you need more

Is there something else you’re searching for

I'm falling

In all the good times I find myself longing for change

...

[Lady Gaga verse]

Tell me something boy

Aren't you tired tryna fill that void

Or do you need more

Ain't it tiring keeping so hardcore

I'm falling

In all the good times I find myself longing for change

...

[Chorus: Lady Gaga]

I'm off the deep end

Watch as I dive in, I'll never meet the ground

Crash through the surface, where they can't hurt us

[Both] We're far from the shallow now

[Post-chorus: Both]

In the sha-a-low

In the sha-alla-low

In the sha-a-low

We're far from the shallow now

[Bridge]

Ahhhhh AHHHHHHHH

[Chorus and post-chorus repeats]

There was also a leak where just before the first chorus Gaga was singing something like:

"Sometimes I feel myself...

I'm off the deep end..."

What's the meaning of the song though? When we had only the chorus I thought they meant that they feel things deeply, that they're real and not shallow persons.  But now we have the verses I'm a little confused cause Gaga's verse implies that Bradley's character feels empty and he's a little shallow

I think it's about being happy and feel safe in the modern world, as the Bradley's verse says.

And yes, Bradley's character feels empty in the movie. It's the plot.

I believe it has a few meanings, namely being thrown from comfort (far from the shallow now); as Jackson and Ally have both done that with Ally’s career exploding and Jackson falling for her and losing his own career. So it’s really about the *movie* in a sense. The deep end is scary because you never know what’s there. For Ally, it’s monumental success and heartache, and for Jackson it’s his own demons coming for him. So it’s about a certain freedom in the unknown and the potential risk and reward in life which can lead to the grim or glory.

Because of the new leak I guess it starts with "Tell me something girl....etc....I'm fallin, in all the good times I find myself longing for a change...etc" by Bradley around the first 30-40 seconds.

Then we have a calm chorus

And Gaga's verse with "Tell me something boy, are you tired trying to fill that void or do you need more? Ain't it hard keeping it so hardcore?......etc..I'm fallin" around 1:10 - 1:30

Then the chorus again

Probably the bridge at  2:35-2:44  is just the "AAAAAAAHHH"

And then the chorus we have from the trailer.

And the last 10 seconds are just like the 10s studio version snippet .

Can you PM me a link or something (A) |

Love!

It's an honor.

Reading the lyrics and knowing what the movie is about, I have to say it would be a travesty if this lost the Oscar to All the Stars. This song describes the movie and the characters feelings to a tee and works in the movies context. And if that's the structure of the songs, it makes even more sense. Whereas that Black Panther song is just a nice catchy pop/rap song played at the credits. I know there will be a big group that want the BP song to win because they want black people to win, but in terms of what is objectively better, it's the shallow.

So after listening all the snippets we have so far I realized that the structure of that song is really interesting.

Maybe in full / the studio version it is composed kinda different but it looks like:

  Reveal hidden contents

(1st) Verse (conversation between Bradley and Gaga)

- Bradley's part

- "I'm falling" part

- Gaga's part (answer)

- "I'm falling" part

1st chours (calm) (which comes in after about 2 minutes of the song)

Bridge [aka "Aaaahaaaaaaaahaaa"]

2nd chorus (powerful)

So it's really interesting.

Like we have just one verse in fact (which is a conversation) then after 2-min-long verse the first chorus comes in then "Ahahhaa" which is probably a bridge and the last chorus.

Masterpiece!

So..as it turns out, you were right about the structure 😁:huntyga:

AnglerfishbraBENUS

The song has 2 verses actually.

Verse

Pre Chorus

Verse

Pre Chorus

Chorus

Post chorus

Bridge

Chorus

Post Chorus

This is the structure.  At least for the live version.

The song is really catchy imo almost every single part will get stuck in people's heads :vegas: they buy it and make it a hit!

Always Remember Us This Way is still the best one tho :reductive:
