Are we really up to compare an Album which is out since a year with an Album which is out since last Friday? 

 

But I think at the end reputation will be more successful. At least in the US. It's longevity is massive! 

Sweetener could be more successful in Europe. Who knows.

Interesting because this has me thinking how Sweetener isn't necessarily having a big era, but Ariana is having a huge era...it might speak to the fact that the popular music market today is really centered more on singles! She's huge with singles and is all over pop culture and totally a newly inducted "it girl" "America's sweetheart" but its not really the album era. With the girls before her who reached similar massive cultural status--Gaga, Katy, Beyonce, Rihanna, Adele, Miley-- it was always kind of centered around a huge album or a consistent stream of huge albums, which Ari has, but Sweetener is just not an album like Born This Way or Teenage Dream or Lemonade, 25 or Bangerz, and Taylor is an album artist too who's hit the status multiple times like the others with ALBUMS. So I think Reputation is bigger era. Ari's best ALBUM & era in my opinion is probably Dangerous Woman, but I think Thank U Next era will be what the Sweetener era is not, which is massive.
