PunkTheFunk 121,472 Posted August 5, 2018 Share Posted August 5, 2018 I ask this question because "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys came on the radio the other day, and I realized that when you strip away the vocals, the instruments, and the late-90s teen pop tackiness, you are left with such a beautifully written melody It's a great song in its own right but I think you can only fully appreciate the songwriting when it's played on the piano. When she sings them only with her piano, they just sound beautiful.  Also ABBA songs have beautiful melodies in general, but my favorites are Chiquitita and Fernando. So starry eyed on the flowery hillside, breathless and fervid amid the dandelions.
