Are LGBT artists underrated?

I made a thread about this because I've had this thought for a while now. What are your views on this? Is there discrimination against LGBT artists?

I mean yeah, but the reason why their music isn't charting isn't because of their sexuality but because dance/pop music isn't a current trend. We're currently in a trap/soundcloud rap phase, so dance music isn't successful in general.

Well, I didn't know Calum Scott was gay.

Also I know GGD hate him but Sam Smith is very gay and very successful, so I dont fully agree but there is certainly a lack of out artists.

I think we forget that gay people literally make up less than 10% of the population. So it makes sense that there is not a huge number of prominent mainstream gay artists.

I see what you're saying but I think it's important to recognize sexual diversity in entertainment because the LGBTQ+ community still isn't seen as up to par with heterosexual artists/actors. We still have hetero/cis actors being cast LGBTQ+ roles.
