question

How Come There Aren't Any Black Pop Stars?

How come? :oprah:

The closest we have to a black pop star is Rihanna (and Beyonce) and that's it. Why is it that most black people sing rap or R&B? White, Asian, and Hispanics sing all types of genres though, but black people don't seem interested in doing other genres...

Just a thought of mine. This topic isn't racist AT ALL. It's just a question I've been wondering for a while...

I'm also talking about the way they sing they sing the same sort of way all the time. While other people experiment with their voice. (yes I know gonna get ALOT of backlash for this comment) :nails:

Janet Jackson!

I'm talking about contemporary. The 80's doesn't count in this topic.

Black artists aren't interested in doing pop. R&B/rap/hip-hop is more interesting and has more substance.

EDIT: People giving me "Excuse me no's".

Hip-hop is great right now. This one of the reasons. Don't be ignorant.
