My thoughts exactly. It's a relief that the public's got some sense. I've got the feeling that this was a last minute choice for the lead single and her label thought it would sell because singles featuring rappers always do well. Well, this was the worst choice possible. Big Sean was absolutely cringey - no flow whatsoever. I've seen grannies who can rap better than that. Dizzee Rascal is irrelevant these days. She needs someone like Drake or Lil Wayne to win her more US recognition and respect, not C-list features from a no-name in the US and another guy whose only well known song was about asses.

I thought it sounded good during the chorus, then all the sudden it cuts to awful rapping. The song is all over the place... Is this the beginning of the end for her? :rip:

I remember the times when she was dubbed the "British lady Gaga" and I was like yeah right.

J-Lo only managed #13? If it's almost summer and a dance song isn't doing well, it seems like the public's really getting tired of dance music. I think a big part of it is that we're getting sick of hearing millionaires sing about how life's one big party and spending money on champagne when we're in a recession. In times like these, Get Lucky suddenly seems like a much more appealing option.

I thought it sounded good during the chorus, then all the sudden it cuts to awful rapping. The song is all over the place... Is this the beginning of the end for her? :rip:

I'm starting to think it may well be. As soon as she said her new album would be less upbeat with sadder songs because she feels her fans are ready to handle that side of her, I was all "uh oh." Who You Are was a single with that concept and it flopped. Same with the anti bullying song, Who's Laughing Now and the darker Nobody's Perfect. Also, she's taken a long time to release something new - her debut was released over two years ago and a three song re-release last year doesn't count. Popstars should follow up their debut very quickly if they want success (as evidenced by Britney, Rihanna and Gaga) as they've got to expand their fanbase while they're still the next big thing. She's also heavily overexposed in the UK and I and many others, find her voice and personality OTT and irritating. I thought, right from her debut, that she'd be a one album wonder - not in the sense that she makes one album, but in the sense that anything she releases afterwards won't make anywhere near the same impact or have as many sales. And if she hasn't made it in the US with her new work, I doubt she ever will.

The problem is, she thinks she's more successful than she is (on The Voice, she said things to contestants like: "I can teach you how to have a hit single all over the world") and seems blind to her own vocal faults (she's criticsed Voice contestants for overdoing it sometimes even though that's what she does every time she sings). I think she'll be one of those artists who bursts onto the scene and then fizzles away just as quickly. When she debuted with Do It Like A Dude, the critics were going crazy, saying she was going to take over the music industry, her voice was amazing and she won all these awards for Best Up And Coming Artist. But then her album got released and it seemed the critics took it all back. Her album got universally mixed reviews with a few negative ones and the public seemed to feel really let down and felt like they'd been led on. And I don't think any artist can survive in the business when that's the general opinion of them.

Jessie J kinda flopped

Its been out for THREE days.

Today the video was released, next week Radio 1 airplay will kick in because they've added it straight to their b-list, then I'm sure the week after she'll perform it on The Voice live shows. It's clearly gonna be sticking around for ages.
