Roanoke was much more interesting when watched through the lens of "the effect of media sensationalism". It made the transition between the first half of the season and second half less disconnected, and actually heightened it's horror AND humor (Sarah was a comedic highlight in the second half). Not my favorite season, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was, the second time around. It was also pretty scary, in a conventional way.
