Before yesterday's final The Marcel Bezençon Awards 2018 was handed out. It an award where the composers, press and commentators choose their favorites.

The Press award goes to the song they like the most. This year it went to France with "Mercy"Â đŸ‡«đŸ‡·

The Artistic award chosen by the commentators goes to the one with the most artistic performance, which this year went to Cyprus and "Fuego"Â đŸ‡šđŸ‡Ÿ

Finally the Composer award goes to the best composition, chosen by the composers of this years entries. The winner here is Bulgaria with "Bones" 🇧🇬

Cyprus was ROBBED. Israel's performance was lame. Message was awesome, but the song itself was so so so lame.

How is everyone around here so crazy about Cyprus? It was the most generic song of the whole competition, and that says a lot about it.

There's wasn't really a remarkable, classic song that deserved to win everything. I'm sure "Amar Pelos Dois" will remain one of the best for a few more years. Israel's win was predictable. She is not the best, but could have been worse.

Eurovision just ended, but the speculation in the Netherlands already started. This year there is no big Dutch favorite to send to Eurovision, so I began to wonder myself, who is on my wish list? Here are some Dutch artists I would like to see on the Eurovision stage next year:

Waylon:

You might think, this is a familiar face. Well, you might be right about that, he was a part of the Common Linnets. They became second in 2014. Since he left the band he's on his own feet again. He hasn't released music for a long time, so Eurovision could be a great opportunity to debut his new music. He experienced the whole Eurovision circus before, his voice is strong and unique and he became second already. Maybe he's scared he can't top that result, but in my opinion he's strong enough to go solo this time.

Queen of everything it seems.
