It's because of the celebrities that most of us have high standards. Not to start talking about messing with our perception of beauty. 

No one is that beautiful and yet, some are being praised as if they were gods.

Educate yourself. Separate media from real life. Inner beauty is what matters. :*

It has more to do with personal taste, not the perception of beauty. I've seen normal people who are just as hot as celebrities.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So you can't say no one is that beautiful, when physical attraction has to do with taste, preference, and hormones in the first place.

Do we over emphasis the beauty of celebrities? Yes, but it's because they are in limelight and we have to see their faces and bodies almost everyday, but it's not to say that normal people can't be just as hot or hotter.

And yes inner beauty is important. But initial physical attraction is necessary for a relationship. It doesn't seem healthy, if you are in a relationship where you love the person's personality but aren't physically attracted to them nor sexually compatible. Just like a relationship full of sex with no or little emotional or romantic connection is faulty.

Judging celebrities on their looks is superficial, but the thread is meant to be light hearted. We aren't trying invalidate their work or talent.
